Discover the deeper dimensions of yoga in this transformative workshop that goes beyond physical postures. Immerse yourself in a holistic practice that connects you to the natural rhythms of the seasons.
This month’s focus: On December 22nd (4-5:30pm), we will explore the power and ritual surrounding the Winter Solstice, also known as Yule, the first day of winter and the shortest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere.
In this workshop, we will:
● Seasonal discussions: Delve into the Ayurvedic significance of the season, exploring its unique energetic qualities and how they can be integrated into your daily life.
● Seasonal rituals: Engage in a ritual to honor the Winter Solstice and the darker times of the year.
● Asana (movements): Yes, we will still have some asana, but it won’t be the only thing! We will balance light and dark with (gentle) dynamic movement and longer held restorative poses.
● Meditation and mindfulness: Cultivate inner peace and focus through guided meditation and mindful practices.
● Pranayama (breathing techniques): Learn and practice various breathing techniques to balance energy and promote well-being according to the season.
● Discussion and journaling: Share insights and experiences, and deepen your understanding through reflective journaling prompts.
Whether you're a seasoned yogi or new to the practice, this class offers a space to explore the profound connection between your body, mind, and spirit.
The workshop is held virtually via Zoom. You will receive the Zoom link once you register.
