17th Annual Keys to Understanding Addiction and Consequences of Use

This conference will educate attendees about the role of mindfulness in substance abuse prevention, treatment and recovery. Featuring Suzanne Brown, PhD, LMSW - Wayne State University and Caitlin Brown, LMSW, E-RYT 200- Mindful Detroit.

Attendees will learn: Basic mindfulness activities that professionals and recovery staff can teach/practice with individuals, identify pathways of mindfulness practices to benefit individuals with substance use disorders and chronic pain, understand the ways trauma can interfere with mindfulness and learn trauma-informed modifications to traditional mindfulness-based interventions.
