Discover the deeper dimensions of yoga in this transformative workshop series that goes beyond physical postures. Immerse yourself in a holistic practice that connects you to the natural rhythms of the seasons.
This month’s focus: On October 27th, we will explore the vata dosha of Autumn and explore upcoming holidays focused on ancestors and spirits, such as Samhain, Halloween, Día de los Muertos, and All Souls Day. A portion of this month’s proceeds will be donated to World Central Kitchen for disaster relief around the world, including in hurricane-affected areas in the US and Mexico, as well as Gaza, Lebanon, and Ukraine.
Each session will explore the unique energy and wisdom of the current season, incorporating:
● Seasonal discussions: Delve into the Ayurvedic significance of each season, exploring its unique energetic qualities and how they can be integrated into your daily life. Monthly and seasonal occurrences such as the full or new moon, equinoxes, and solstices will also be discussed.
● Asana (movements): Yes, we will still have some asana, but it won’t be the only thing! Practice beginner-friendly asana that connects to the energy of the season and the natural world. Asana will be a gentle flow or longer held restorative postures.
● Meditation and mindfulness: Cultivate inner peace and focus through guided meditation and mindful practices.
● Pranayama (breathing techniques): Learn and practice various breathing techniques to balance energy and promote well-being according to the season.
● Discussion and journaling: Share insights and experiences, and deepen your understanding through reflective journaling prompts.
● Seasonal rituals: Engage in simple, meaningful rituals that align with the energy of the season.
Whether you're a seasoned yogi or new to the practice, this class offers a space to explore the profound connection between your body, mind, and spirit.
Monthly workshops are held virtually via Zoom. You will receive the Zoom link once you register.
